This study aims to measure flame temperature and soot concentration in a diesel engine, and the author designed and built an optical system of the two-color method. Experiments have been conducted using a single cylinder heavy duty diesel engine, and the effects of EGR and fuel injection pressure on in-cylinder flame temperature and KL factor have been investigated.
